Ikebana International, Philadelphia Chapter #71
Ikebana International is a worldwide organization founded in Tokyo in 1956. Its members are dedicated to the promotion of mutual understanding and friendship between Japan and other countries through ikebana, the Japanese art of flower arranging. I.I. is made up of many schools. Some stress classic styles, while others focus on more contemporary forms. Each school is different, and openly shares its inspirations, styles, philosophy, history and techniques.
The Philadelphia chapter was founded in 1964. Our members are from Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, and Maryland. Membership is open to anyone interested in the art of ikebana and the ideals of I.I. regardless of previous experience. Please visit us at www.ikebanaphiladelphia.org.
