Bucks County Community College Floral Design Program

The Floral Design Program at Bucks County Community College offers a comprehensive and inspiring pathway for anyone passionate about flowers, whether you're exploring floral design as a fulfilling hobby or aiming to build a rewarding career. Part of the Continuing Education department, this certificate program provides students with a solid foundation in floral design, guided by the high standards of the American Institute of Floral Designers (AIFD). As an official Education Partner of AIFD, our curriculum aligns with their esteemed objectives, ensuring top-tier training and creative growth. Graduates of our program are uniquely positioned to pursue professional accreditation as Certified Floral Designers (CFD) through AIFD-a prestigious distinction that highlights excellence and opens doors in the floral industry. Delaware Valley University

Delaware Valley University (DelVal) is known for its long-standing tradition of exhibiting at the Philadelphia Flower Show, a yearly event where students gain hands-on experience in horticulture and landscape architecture by designing and building immersive, educational displays that showcase the value of plants, technology, and sustainable practices for the public. The university has a 76-year history with the show, beginning in 1950, and has been recognized with awards, such as the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society Gold Medal.

Lakeside School Greenhouse

The Lakeside Greenhouse is proud to have been part of this wonderful Philadelphia tradition since 2017 It means a great deal for our students to see their efforts affirmed and honored. Our Greenhouse offers both learning and therapeutic opportunities. Students working in Lakeside's Horticulture and Landscape Design Program gain both knowledge and skills while developing confidence and pride, while encouraging and empowering a better future for our students.

Lankenau Environmental Science Magnet High School

Lankenau Environmental Magnet High School provides an academically focused and student-centered approach to learning through agro-ecology, natural resource management, and environmental science. We create hands-on learning opportunities that enable students to actively engage in Philadelphia's robust and growing green infrastructure and industry.

Mercer County Community College

Mercer County Community College offers an Associates in Science Degree in Plant Science; a Certificate of Proficiency in Horticulture; and an Associates in Applied Science in Horticulture with 4 concentration options - Ornamental Horticulture, Production Horticulture, Urban Agriculture, and Landscape Design. Required coursework includes soils, integrated pest management, and plant identification. Elective options include landscape design, plant propagation, arboriculture, urban and peri-urban forestry management, food production, landscape construction, urban planning and design, nursery management, and more.

Temple University Department of Landscape, Architecture, & Horticulture

The Landscape Architecture and Horticulture degree programs at Temple University's Tyler School of Art and Architecture share a vision of inspiring the next generation of professionals to lead the transformation of natural and built environments - creating places that are ecologically sound, socially equitable and resilient, while addressing the challenges of climate change. Temple University's Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture (BSLA) program is a four-year, ecologically based, Landscape Architectural Accreditation Board (LAAB)-accredited degree program that integrates art, culture, ecology and horticulture in the design of open space. Our BSLA students have been actively involved in the Philadelphia Flower Show for many decades and have received numerous accolades. We are known for integrating ecological design and environmental ethics while educating our students and the public.

University of Delaware

Students from multiple departments at the University of Delaware (UD) come together through a student organization - the PHS Philadelphia Flower Show Club at UD and an elective class to design, build, grow and install the UD exhibit at the show. For many years, UD students have participated in the show in some aspect and for at least the past 14, have been an Exhibitor in the Major Educational Exhibits. Disciplines represented include Landscape Architecture, Plant & Soil Science, Art Conservation, Biology, and Engineering, as well as others.
