The PHS Trees Team is offering our bi-annual support for new and established community Tree Tender Groups as they prepare for their Fall Plantings in November.
Organizing a Community Planting, the first portion of the workshop will be online and virtual. This will give new leaders insight into tips and tricks for running a smooth planting and provide a networking space with established leaders. (see recorded training and guides below)
Tree Tender Leader Training, the second in person only portion of the workshop will allow all levels of Tree Tender leaders to hear from established group leaders about how to take their neighborhood group engagement to the next level.

Do you know the difference between a root flare, graft union, or adventitious roots? We'll review bare root planting techniques and nuances, staking and tying, tool safety, and working with volunteers to ensure happy and healthy trees and volunteers!

Learn about tree care and planting by participating in a PHS Tree Tenders training. This eight-hour course will be offered through prerecorded sessions. Workshop topics include tree biology, identification, planting, and proper care. You will be joining one of the nation’s oldest, most respected volunteer urban tree-care programs.
