Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, PHS volunteer opportunities may be limited. We are providing updates weekly to keep our members, volunteers, and participants informed.

PHS loves volunteers!

Volunteering at PHS is a great way to make a difference and create a positive change in the community. No previous experience is necessary – we give you the training you need. The only thing you need is your enthusiasm and love for all things gardening. Everyone makes a difference.

Join thousands of volunteers committed to connecting people with horticulture to create beautiful, healthy and sustainable communities.

Ready to join us? Learn more about our volunteer opportunities by creating an account in VolunteerHub. You can sign up for current volunteer events and select what you'd like to do in the future.

Volunteer with PHS Meadowbrook Farm

PHS Meadowbrook Farm invites volunteers to help with gardening and greeting. Our gardening shifts include tasks such as planting, deadheading/grooming, pruning (supervised based on experience), planting, leaf cleanup, mulching, and weeding. Our greeting shifts give volunteers the opportunity to welcome all guests who visit PHS Meadowbrook Farm.

Grow and Share with Harvest 2020

Harvest 2020 is a new PHS program focused on addressing growing hunger and food insecurity in the Philadelphia region. PHS is asking our powerful community to dig in and plant more food crops this year with extra to share.
