“First Ladies and Their Orchids”

A standout blend of horticulture and American history, this exhibit by Chadwick and Son Orchids features nineteen consecutive U.S. First Ladies who have had orchids named in their honor, beginning with Mrs. Woodrow Wilson. The display highlights how orchids have long been used to commemorate influential women throughout history.

Emerging Florists Display Area

Discover fresh perspectives in floral design through four side-by-side installations created by emerging florists. Bold colors, distinctive styles, and deeply personal storytelling reveal how culture and memory influence contemporary floral artistry.

PHS Gold Medal Plants

Looking for plants that truly perform? This curated display showcases the 2026 PHS Gold Medal Plant winners, including trees, shrubs, and perennials selected for their beauty, reliability, wildlife value, and success in Mid-Atlantic gardens. See how these award-winning plants thrive in real garden settings and gather inspiration for your own landscape.

Competitive Classes: From Miniature Marvels to Botanical Art

The Flower Show’s beloved Competitive Classes return with creativity at every scale. Highlights include:

  • Miniature Settings, where tiny designs bring historical moments to life
  • The return of balconies in the Design Classes, challenging designers to make bold statements in compact spaces
  • Botanical Arts, featuring plant-inspired couture, jewelry, and accessories that travel through iconic style eras, from Gilded Age elegance to disco glamour

Before 250: Honoring Pennsylvania’s Indigenous Roots

Presented by W.B. Saul High School of Agricultural Sciences, this powerful exhibit honors the Lenni Lenape people and Pennsylvania’s Indigenous history. A forested hillside, flowing stream, and recreated Lenni Lenape site highlight the deep connection between native plants, land stewardship, and cultural heritage.

American Landscape Showcase

In celebration of America’s 250th anniversary, four world-renowned designers interpret the roots and resilience of American gardening. These immersive gardens explore how landscapes shape communities and cultural identity. Made possible by the Philadelphia Funder Collaborative for the Semiquincentennial.

Rooted in Time: America’s Native Flora

Created by the Philadelphia Society of Botanical Illustrators, this exhibit uses detailed botanical illustration to explore the beauty and endurance of America’s native plants and fungi over the past 250 years. This exhibit reveals both the visible and hidden ecosystems that sustain life.
