We can’t wait to welcome guests back to FDR Park for the 2022 PHS Philadelphia Flower Show! Here is a “sneak peek” at all the great new elements of this year’s Show, plus some changes we have in store. We hope to see you when we are “In Full Bloom,” June 11-19, 2022, in FDR Park!
This year’s Show will be jam-packed with a variety of flowers and plants at the peak of seasonal perfection. Visitors will be greeted with a vibrant, blooming floral path upon entering the Show. The Entry Garden will be a spectacular floral and garden display filled with bold colors and dramatic beauty — a preview of all that “In Full Bloom” has to offer.
A re-imagined Show layout will highlight more floral and garden displays, featuring an eclectic mix of 37 major exhibitors from Philadelphia and overseas. We will host the most women designers the Show has ever featured in one year! This year’s exhibitors will bring to life their interpretation of how gardening and horticulture are the greatest forms of therapy. Visitors of all ages and experience levels will learn something new to bring nature and the joy of gardening into their own lives and homes.
Based on guest feedback from last year, we have made several enhancements to the Show to provide an even more enjoyable experience for guests at this year’s outdoor event.
To help address the heat, hydration stations will be available throughout the Show grounds for guests to refill their water bottles, and bottled water will be available for purchase from most Flower Show eateries. If the temperature becomes too uncomfortable, water misters will also be available in FDR Park.
For improved accessibility at the 2022 Flower Show, the walkway from the park entrance to the Flower Show entry gates has been re-paved, and additional attention will be given to curbs throughout the Show grounds for guests to easily maneuver if using a wheelchair or other mobility device. There will be additional restrooms added to the Show grounds in 2022, including a wide variety of restroom options for women, men, families, and ADA/ramp accessible.
The 2022 Flower Show eateries will offer a wide variety of food and drinks for guests, including global cuisine choices, as well as gluten-free, vegetarian, vegan, family-friendly, and allergy-sensitive options.
The Food Bazaar will provide a picturesque place for visitors to take a break, grab a delicious bite to eat and a cold drink, and listen to live music. Guests can soak in the natural beauty of the Flower Show outdoors as they enjoy a wide range of food and beverage options curated for foodies, festival diners, and families. A variety of eateries will also be interspersed throughout the Show grounds this year.
There will be numerous ways for families and children to experience the beauty and fun of horticulture together at the 2022 Flower Show. The Kids Cocoon will feature an outdoor playground and dedicated place for kids and parents to relax and enjoy. Nearby, kids and people of all ages can get up close with hundreds of spectacular, native butterflies at the re-imagined Butterflies Live! Exhibit.
Young families can celebrate Father’s Day at the Flower Show with Family Frolic on Sunday, June 19. This special day will feature a variety of floral, gardening, and craft activities, plus sights and sounds provided by local Philadelphia partners and institutions. Family Frolic programming is free and included with your ticket purchase for this date.
To make planning for the 2022 Flower Show a breeze, tickets this year will not be based on timed entry. Instead, guests can purchase tickets priced according to their preference for a specific day, or for $5 more, you can choose to purchase a ticket good for any Show day. Ticket packages are also available for families and groups, with discounts already included for sharing this floral experience!
It is important to note that tickets to the Flower Show are not refundable. If a weather-related set of events closes the Show (lightning, flooding, or other issues that impact guest safety), a decision regarding future ticket usage will be communicated to ticket holders via the original email address used to purchase tickets. Ticket insurance is also available to protect your purchase for just a few extra dollars per ticket.
