African Violet Society of Philadelphia

The African Violet Society of Philadelphia is a community of African violet enthusiasts. They welcome others to share the joy and sometimes sorrow of growing African violets and their related plants. Their purpose is to grow better African violets, share plants and ideas, and promote interest in the culture of African violets.

Delaware African Violet and Gesneriad Society

The Delaware African Violet and Gesneriad Society is an organization of people who have an interest in growing African Violets and other plants in the Gesneriad Family. Their goals include educating the public about the plants they love to grow and encouraging anyone who is interested to join their organization.

Delaware Valley Branch of the American Begonia Society

The Delaware Valley Branch of the American Begonia Society, representing the Greater Philadelphia region, is a horticultural society devoted to the promotion, cultivation, and study of begonias.

Delaware Valley Fern & Wildflower Society

Since its founding in 1976 by scientists from Morris Arboretum and Longwood Gardens, the Delaware Valley Fern & Wildflower Society has been educating members and the public about ferns and native plants by visiting natural and cultivated areas to view plants in the ground that can be grown at home or enjoyed in place.

Indoor Plant Society

The Indoor Plant Society is a local group for houseplant enthusiasts of all experience levels and areas of interest to learn, share, and grow.

Pennsylvania Bonsai Society

The Pennsylvania Bonsai Society was founded on May 3, 1963, a pioneering east coast bonsai organization, and one of the oldest in the United States. It is a nonprofit corporation. Its purposes since the beginning have been to: promote interest in and enjoyment of bonsai; make information available on the culture and history of bonsai; promote the collection and exhibition of bonsai; and provide interaction between bonsai fanciers.

Philadelphia Cactus & Succulent Society

The Philadelphia Cactus & Succulent Society was founded on November 15, 1942, to help Delaware Valley cactus and succulent hobbyists learn about these unusual plants in order to grow them better. For 82 years they have held a monthly in-person meeting, from September through June. Their first exhibit at the Philadelphia Flower Show was in 1956, and they are proud to have become a permanent fixture at the Flower Show since 1968. In the past few years, they have expanded our outreach via Facebook and Instagram, so growers can post photos and brag about well-grown plants, ask questions about plant problems, or ask the identity of an unknown plant.
