Sybria Deveaux

Sybria was born in raised in South Philadelphia. She graduated from John Bartram High School (as the Salutatorian, just saying) in 2020. Sybria comes to PHS after interning at Sankofa Community Farm at Bartram’s Garden. Her interest in gardening and passion for community engagement bloomed there. As the Propagation Specialist, Sybria holds it down in the PHS Green Resource Centers -- one of them is at Bartram’s Garden! She fills trays, seeds over 7,000 starts for City Harvest distribution days, and guides volunteers through their Co-Op hours. Sybria brings an energy to the Gardens team that only Sybria could. She makes 8 hours in the greenhouse feel like 5 minutes with her stories about her 2 cats (Pickles and Esther), spot-on movie recommendations, and podcasts about mythological figures that are equally informative and funny.
