Keith Green

Vice President of Healthy Neighborhoods

Keith Green is the Vice President of Healthy Neighborhoods for PHS, where he will leverage his experience and entrepreneurial spirit to build upon PHS’s impactful programs that serve city and suburban neighborhoods, which have grown more than 40% in the past five years.  He will lead a team of over 30 talented individuals, fostering a collaborative environment that strengthens and expands PHS’s reach. His purview will include oversight of activities including: Community Gardens; Trees; LandCare; Workforce Development; and Stormwater Management. He will also provide oversight to strategic projects such as Nicetown and Tioga’s “Love Where You Live” greening plan and the Philly Tree Coalition. Green will also be responsible for developing and driving horticultural and equity-centered strategies to maximize the impact of gardening on the health and well-being of diverse communities. Additionally, he will cultivate partnerships and represent PHS with stakeholders to further expand the organization’s impact.

Prior to his role as Vice President, Keith was Director of PHS LandCare, a nationally-recognized model that transforms urban neighborhoods by cleaning, greening, and maintaining vacant lots. He directed the development of new initiatives and the expansion of the LandCare program, oversaw the long-term strategy, determined the scale of the work to be performed each season, and cultivated key partnerships to ensure the successful delivery of the program.

Keith began his time with PHS as a young teenager, volunteering to create positive change through horticulture. He has extensive experience in construction management and landscape installation projects. His expertise lies in vacant land stabilization and management, capacity building for small business contractors, community engagement, and landscape construction.
