Abbey comes to PHS after working in some of the major cities of New Jersey in various roles providing access to healthy, fresh, and local food for people of all ages, creating food literacy curricula for students ages 3-18, and implementing garden and nutrition educational programming both in school and out-of-school settings. Abbey's journey to food justice started, however, with an organic farming apprenticeship in Montgomery County and she is thrilled to be back where it all began! At the Norristown Farm Park Green Resource Center, Abbey finds joy teaching about the importance of healthy eating, how to grow food, and the satisfaction of discovering culinary self-efficacy. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, singing loudly (often while cooking), crafting, and bike-running nearby rail trails with her husband (he runs fast, she bikes medium speed).
