PHILADELPHIA, PA – April 17, 2025 – The Pennsylvania Horticultural Society (PHS) has ushered in the arrival of spring with the blooming of PHS public gardens and landscapes across the Philadelphia region. With over 20 unique locations to explore, PHS offers a stunning selection of green spaces, showcasing seasonal plantings and providing the perfect opportunity for locals and visitors alike to get outside and reconnect with nature. By nurturing these gardens today, PHS is cultivating a greener, healthier tomorrow for the entire Philadelphia region.

PHS gardens and landscapes are free to the public and play a crucial role in advancing PHS’s mission of promoting health and well-being through horticulture. They serve as a source of inspiration for gardeners and nature lovers while helping to improve the region's urban ecosystem. From expanding the urban tree canopy to attracting pollinators, these gardens and landscapes contribute to a healthier environment while promoting physical and mental well-being through the calming presence of nature.

PHS Meadowbrook Farm
PHS is excited to announce the opening of PHS Meadowbrook Farm for the spring season.
This 21-acre estate is a tranquil retreat, inviting visitors to explore a variety of different gardens featuring unique and exotic plants from around the world. Highlights include xeric beds, an herb garden, a stone wall garden, as well as more than a dozen other “garden rooms” filled with seasonal annuals, bulbs, and perennials. Visitors can also enjoy the artistry of cloud and espalier-pruned trees, calming water features, and the ambient sounds of nature. Open seasonally from mid-April to mid-October, Meadowbrook Farm offers free admission, providing the perfect escape to experience the beauty of spring in full bloom.

Logan Square
Take a stroll along the Benjamin Franklin Parkway and revel in the spring blooms of Logan Square. This iconic space will feature a spectacular display of 110,000 daffodils, tulips, and other seasonal flowers, creating a colorful backdrop against the Swann Memorial Fountain. With exquisite plantings and new garden designs, Logan Square is the perfect spot to enjoy the season’s beauty while experiencing the lively atmosphere of downtown Philadelphia.

LOVE Park
LOVE Park will transform into an urban oasis this spring, showcasing a breathtaking mix of spring bulbs, perennials, plants, trees, and shrubs. Whether you're relaxing by the iconic LOVE sculpture or simply enjoying the colorful garden displays, LOVE Park is the perfect iconic Philadelphia destination to reconnect with nature in the heart of the city.

PHS Pop Up Gardens - South Street & Manayunk
PHS is excited to reopen its Pop Up Gardens at Manayunk and South Street, where guests can enjoy seasonal plant displays, delicious food, and a host of engaging activities. With dishes inspired by local flavors and a range of creative cocktails, both gardens provide a unique space to get outside and unwind while supporting PHS’s sustainability efforts. The gardens will feature plants from the PHS Philadelphia Flower Show, giving them a second life in these urban retreats. Visitors can also participate in hands-on workshops like terrarium making and plant embroidery or take part in free monthly Plant Swaps to add new plants to their collection. Open through late fall, the Pop Up Gardens offer a refreshing way to celebrate the season and enjoy the atmosphere of these lively spaces. Delaware River Waterfront
The Delaware River Waterfront will bloom with new plantings, adding colorful beauty to the scenic riverfront and its piers. Visitors can enjoy a peaceful stroll along the water while exploring fresh garden displays that highlight the season’s best blooms. Be sure to visit the Cherry Street Pier gardens, where tropical-inspired plants and seasonal flowers frame the waterfront views. This picturesque location offers a perfect escape to enjoy the outdoors and celebrate the arrival of spring in Philadelphia.

Philadelphia Navy Yard
The Philadelphia Navy Yard offers an exceptional blend of natural beauty and urban innovation. Visitors can enjoy the greenery along the waterfront, featuring 25 newly planted flowering Yoshino cherry trees recently re-homed from the 2025 Philadelphia Flower Show. These delicate blossoms add a splash of color to the Navy Yard's landscape, creating a magnificent visual display that marks the arrival of spring. The Navy Yard’s outdoor spaces are perfect for springtime strolls, offering a peaceful retreat with scenic views of the river and the surrounding industrial architecture.
