Asha El-Shabazz, Director of Horticulture at the Philadelphia Insectarium and Butterfly Pavilion, kicks off Pollinator Week with a quick introduction to pollinators and tips on how to create a pollinator garden. Join us for a walk through her garden as she explains the basics to us.

Pollinators are essential to the world’s environment. Not only are they vital to creating and maintaining habitats and ecosystems that animals rely on for food and shelter, they are crucial to agriculture as many crops require pollination to survive. The USDA estimates that the pollination of agriculture in the United States is valued at $10 billion annually.
