Unveiling the Wonders of Gardening: The Know to Grow Webinar Series

PHS is delighted to present the Know to Grow Webinar Series, a vibrant and inclusive program designed to nurture your love for gardening. This reimagined lecture series welcomes everyone, from seasoned gardeners to those with a budding curiosity about the plant world.

Join us as Tama Matsuoka Wong, professional forager, purveyor to restaurants, meadow doctor, and awarded author speaks about her highly anticipated book Into the Weeds: How to Garden Like a Forager. A sort of "anti-garden" gardening book, Tama will talk about why the unplanted weeds we find are important -- for health, the environment, and food. She will tell us precisely why she is so into the weeds and what it means to garden like a forager.

PHS Members, please log-in with your last name and member number at the link above to receive complimentary admission to this webinar.

Why Attend?

  • Learn from Tama Matsuoka Wong, whose work has been featured in House and Garden, Gardenista, The New York Times, Martha Stewart Living, and Modern Farmer. Tama’s first book, Foraged Flavor, was nominated for a James Beard Award. Her second book, Scraps Wilt and Weeds, co-written with NOMA co-founder Mads Refslund, won an IACP award. She has spoken at the New Designs in American Landscape Symposium and Woody Plants Conference, among others.
  • Discover the benefits of weeds for health, the environment, and culinary uses, and how to incorporate them into your gardening practices.
  • Get your questions answered during the live Q&A with Tama.

PHS's Vice President of Horticulture, Andrew Bunting, will moderate the discussion.
