Community Gardens
Join us for a dialogue with undergraduate researcher and land activist Bakari Clark, and a panel of gardeners and growers who have made a change in Germantown’s Community Gardens and Food Systems. We will be creating an intentional space and time for gardeners to tell their history and speak on the impact and importance of their gardens and growing efforts.
This will be an opportunity for fellow community growers to learn about the different initiatives that are taking place, and ways they can get involved in developing safe, culturally rich, and fun third spaces in their neighborhood.
Audience questions will be collected throughout the evening, and following the Gardener Panel, we will hold a Q&A.
Lynn Roberts is a Clinical Herbalist, walking the line where traditional use of herbs meets modern science. Her practice is evidence-based while honoring the wisdom of all those who worked with plants before her. Lynn has been in private practice as a Clinical Herbalist and Ayurvedic Health Counselor since 2009, educating individuals and groups about using lifestyle, nutrition, and herbalism to find and maintain optimal health while playing matchmaker between people and plants. She is also a Nutritionist and Adapted Culinary Coach, helping those with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families with healthy meal planning, grocery shopping, and meal prep. Lynn stewards the herb gardens at PHS Green Resource Center at Norristown Farm Park and offers various herbalism workshops.
