Learn about gardening, greening and the environment, and how to incorporate them into classroom or after-school activities!

Participants will help build an outdoor school garden. There will be plenty of hands-on activities, so come prepared to get dirty!  Come to 1,2, or all 3 days!

This three-session and 12-hour course will cover:

  • Designing and maintaining a year-round school garden
  • Building and planting raised beds and vertical planters
  • Teaching kids through planing trees
  • Planting pollinator and water retention gardens
  • Finding the best ways to get the kids outside to enjoy nature

Open to anyone working with kids. You do not need to be a teacher, and you do not need to work in Philadelphia to participate.

This program is presented in cooperation with Cristo Rey Philadelphia High School and PHS/Tioga-Nicetown Love Where You Live Program.
