Philadelphia Cactus & Succulent Society
The Philadelphia Cactus & Succulent Society was founded on November 15, 1942 to help Delaware Valley cactus and succulent hobbyists learn about these unusual plants in order to grow them better. For 81 years, they have held a monthly in-person meeting from September through June. Their first exhibit at the Philadelphia Flower Show was in 1956, and they have become a permanent fixture at the Flower Show in 1968. In the past few years, they have expanded their outreach via Facebook and Instagram, so growers can post photos and brag about well-grown plants, ask questions about plant problems, or ask the identity of an unknown plant.
