Philadelphia LandCare

Deeply Rooted

Deeply Rooted is a community-academic collaborative that uses the healing power of nature to promote health and well-being in Black and other minority Philadelphia neighborhoods. Cleaning over 200,000 sf of vacant land through collaboration with the PHS vacant land team. These bids will include up to 7 groups which vary from 5,000 to 90,000 square feet.  As in the past, contractors may bid on more than one group.  The treatment for stabilization includes debris removal, regrading, seeding, fencing, planting trees, and maintenance.

Items to Remember

  • Contractors MUST read contract documents. If there are any questions, please feel free to contact Marquita Heard. 

Important Dates

  • Tuesday, February 27th: Pre-Bid Meeting. 
  • Friday, March 8th by 12 pm: Bids are due. 
  • Friday, March 15th: Awarded contractors will be notified.

Stabilization Due Dates 

  • Monday, March 25th: Work may commence on the sites. 
  • Friday, May 3rd: All grading & and hydroseeding work must be completed. 
  • Friday, May 10th: All tree installations and mulch be completed. 
  • Friday, May 24th: All fence installation work must be completed. 

Failure to comply with these dates could lead to contract termination. 

A bid application link will be emailed to you shortly after the pre-bid meeting. This application must be submitted in full, and all required attachments included by 12 pm on Friday, March 8th.  

Other Notes 

  • PA One- Call must be contacted before any work may begin 
  • See Detail FE02VL-R All fences must meet the specification or the contractor will be required to rework the fence until deemed acceptable 

 

Vacant Land Stabilization 

Spring 2024 stabilization bid package includes 7 groups which vary between 27,000 - 75,000 square feet.  As in the past, contractors may bid on more than one group.  The treatment for stabilization includes debris removal, regrading, seeding, fencing, and maintenance visits through June.
