Philadelphia LandCare

Deeply Rooted

Deeply Rooted is a community-academic collaborative that uses the healing power of nature to promote health and well-being in Black and other minority Philadelphia neighborhoods. Cleaning over 100,000 sf of vacant land thru collaboration with PHS vacant land team. These bids will include up to 4 groups which vary from 15,000 to 30,000 square feet. As in the past, contractors may bid on more than one group. The treatment for stabilization includes debris removal, regrading, seeding, fencing, planting trees and maintenance.

Important dates

  • Tuesday, February 21: Pre-Bid Meeting
  • Monday, March 3, by 12:00 pm: Bids are due
  • Monday, March 10: Awarded contractors will be notified

Stabilization Due Dates

  • Monday, March 20: Work may commence on the sites.
  • Monday, April 17: All grading & hydroseeding work must be completed.
  • Monday, May 8: All fence installation work must be completed. 
  • Monday, May 22: All tree installations and site work must be completed.
  • Failure to comply with these dates could lead to contract termination.

A bid application link will be emailed shortly after the bid meeting. This application must be submitted in full and all required attachments included by 12:00 pm on Friday, March 3.

  • PA One- Call must be contacted before any work may begin
  • See Detail FE02VL-R All fences must meet the specification or contractor will be required to rework the fence until deemed acceptable

These bids will include 7 groups which vary from 5,000 to 106,000 square feet.  As in the past, contractors may bid on more than one group.  The treatment for stabilization includes debris removal, regrading, seeding, fencing, planting trees and maintenance.
