Delaware Valley University, Landscape Architecture and Environmental Science

Delaware Valley University is an institution of higher education focused on Experiential Learning. With almost 3/4 of a century of continuous exhibits at the Philadelphia Flower Show, Delaware Valley University strives to not only educate but to entertain visitors. Their goal at every show is to leave people excited and talking. The university's Flower Show Design/Build Studio course brings together students from across campus to learn the detailed fundamentals of design and fabrication.

Lakeside School Green House

Winner of the 2023 PHS Gold Medal. Lakeside School Greenhouse has been in existence for 26 years, starting as a small hoop house, growing to a 5000-sq ft. greenhouse that grows over 30,000 plants annually for our 3 school campuses, plus our Greenhouse business which is open to the public. It provides students with hands-on opportunities in the horticulture industry as well as business skills by working with customers in our Greenhouse business. They are proud to be exhibiting for the 7th year at the Flower Show, and love having the ability to create exciting displays within the major exhibitors' division.

Mercer County Community College Horticulture Program

Winner of the 2023 Chicago Horticultural Society Flower Show Medal, the PHS Gold Medal Award, and the PHS Gold Medal. Mercer County Community College has been offering Horticulture as a major since the mid 1970's. The goal is to provide students with the knowledge and experience required to be successful within the industry or at a transfer institution. The Philadelphia Flower Show provides a fantastic learning experience for student volunteers.

Pennsylvania Bonsai Society

Pennsylvania Bonsai Society is one of America's oldest bonsai clubs. Founded in 1963, they are a non-profit, independent, regional organization with active members from Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware. Their goal remains the same as it did since the beginning -- to promote the enjoyment of and participation in all things bonsai.

Philadelphia Cactus and Succulent Society

The Philadelphia Cactus & Succulent Society was founded in 1942 to help Delaware Valley cactus and succulent hobbyists learn more about these unusual plants in order to grow them better. For 75 years their primary interaction was a monthly in-person meeting, but in the past few years, they have expanded their outreach via Facebook, Instagram, and Zoom meetings, in addition to the monthly meetings taking place from September through June. Their first exhibit at the Philadelphia Flower Show was in 1956, when only one plant society was invited each year. They were invited to return a few more times, and became a permanent fixture at the Flower Show in 1966.

Temple University

Winner of the 2023 Alfred M. Campbell Memorial Trophy, Pennsylvania Landscape & Nursery Assoc Trophy, The Bulkley Medal of The Garden Club of America, the PHS Gardening for the Greater Good, and the PHS Gold Medal. Temple's Ambler Campus. This exhibit was designed and built by college students under the guidance of two seasoned Landscape Architects. Horticulture students and staff prepare all the plants included in the exhibit. Temple University offers a unique hands-on experience that allows students to create, build, and showcase their talents for visitors to the Philadelphia Flower Show. The campus has been participating in PFS for 90 years total: 66 as Temple University. Since the inception of the Pennsylvania School of Horticulture for Women in 1932 and as Temple University since 1956.

University of Delaware

Winner of the 2023 PHS Sustainability Award and the PHS Silver Medal. Students from multiple departments at the University of Delaware (UD) come together through a student organization -- the PHS Philadelphia Flower Show Club at UD -- and an elective class to design, build, grow and install the UD exhibit at the Show. For many years, UD students have participated in the Show in some aspect and, for at least the past 10 years, have been an Exhibitor in the Major Educational Exhibits. Disciplines represented include Landscape Architecture, Plant Science, Engineering, and Leadership, as well as others.

W.B. Saul High School of Agricultural Sciences

Winner of the 2023 PHS Gold Medal. The W.B. Saul High School of Agricultural Sciences is situated on over 130 acres of pastural land in the Roxborough portion of Philadelphia. Students travel to the school on a daily basis from many of the 66 wards that make up Philadelphia -- the North East, West, South and all parts in between, sometimes traveling over two hours to get to school. That dedication is shown in both the classroom and around a campus that resembles more working farm and arboretum than urban school setting. The W.B. Saul High School of Agricultural Sciences is the only Philadelphia high school to maintain their own grounds as well as take part in the Philadelphia Flower Show. They hope to continue the honor of placing in the top tier amongst the colleges and universities in our educational class.

Waldor Orchids

Winner of the 2023 American Orchid Society Award. Waldor Orchids has been a family-owned and operated business since 1925. They grow and sell a wide variety of orchids at their 15,000-sq. ft. nursery in Linwood, NJ.
