Together with partners, PHS helps to build beauty in key public landscapes across Philadelphia by managing landscapes using environmentally and ecologically responsible methods, material and techniques. Some of the work is funded through the PHS Legacy Landscape fund while other is fee for service.
Ongoing management of our Legacy Landscapes sites includes the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Azalea Garden, Logan Square Swann Memorial Fountain, and Rodin Museum through our partnership with Philadelphia Parks and Recreation, as well as the 26th Street Gateway Project, Eastern State Penitentiary Terrace Garden and John F. Kennedy Boulevard. Volunteers are essential to our Legacy Landscapes work, including regular help at the Azalea Garden and Eastern State Penitentiary, as well as special volunteer work days. During the annual City In Bloom event, PHS works with Philadelphia Parks and Recreation and Fairmount Park Conservancy to rally the help of volunteers to build beauty along the parkway with bulb plantings and other beautification projects.
With our clients, the Delaware River Waterfront Corporation, PECO, the Navy Yard, the Sports Complex Special Services District and the Pennsylvania Convention Center, PHS provides landscape management services to make sure public landscapes flourish—sustainably.
