Edible Gardening: Part Three

Backyard Chickens

Learn how to raise chickens in your backyard with Maureen Breen from Philadelphia Backyard Chickens. Watch as Maureen gives us a tour of her chicken run. She will show us their space to roam, talks about their chicken feed, and explains how to protect them from predators by using chicken wire and bird netting.

If you have the appropriate yard space to provide chickens a suitable home (each require one- to two-feet of nesting space inside the coop), they can be surprisingly low maintenance! Chickens will generally produce one egg per day!
