Our day starts with a visit to unforgettable Luna Parc, home and studio of avant-garde artist Ricky Boscarino, who creates whimsical, sophisticated works in metal, clay, glass, wood and cement. Next stop is in rural Newton, NJ where we will visit a lovely garden amid a 40-acre property and have lunch. One of the owners, a garden designer, has skillfully created a garden of many moods. A few miles away is the garden of two plant collectors: author/photographer Ken Druse and Louis Bauer, director of horticulture at Wave Hill. Their rural garden, situated on a two-acre island, is home to a vast collection of specimen plants, some very rare, and all carefully chosen and sited to their best advantage. The collection includes extraordinary trees and shrubs, each with a history, and all valued as part of a garden tapestry. Our Krapf bus will pick up passengers at two locations: 7am at PHS, 20th and Arch Streets and 7:30am at the Horticulture Center in Fairmount Park. Please indicate where you will board the bus when registering.
