Tree Programs
Become a neighborhood greening hero! Learn about tree care and planting by participating in a PHS Tree Tenders training this spring. This eight-hour course offers topics including tree biology, identification, planting, and proper care. You will be joining one of the nation’s oldest, most respected volunteer urban tree-care programs.
This is a four (4) part workshop series taking place on Wednesdays, April 29, May 6, 13, and 20.
Tree Tenders are given the tools to plant and nurture trees in their own neighborhoods. Regionally, there are over 5,000 Tree Tenders from over 100 neighborhoods! Join a group or form your own Tree Tenders group, by attending the training with two neighbors.
A brief Zoom check-in will be held on April 22 at 6:30 pm to make sure the webinar technology is working for everyone (and to toast Earth Day!) and ensure that the April 29 session can start without delays.
If you are experiencing financial hardship but would like to become a Tree Tender, please contact [email protected] for a scholarship.
Please note: registration for this course will close at 12pm on Wednesday, April 29.
