Understanding the connection between gardening and soil is critical to the health and environmental sustainability of your garden. Jacob Chalfin, soil expert at Laurel Valley Soils, will discuss strategies for identifying soil issues and share ideas about how to improve your soil over time. Learn about soil amendments in particular the benefits of backyard composting, including how to get started or make an existing compost system more efficient.
