Community Gardens
Celebrate end of summer at the outdoor screening of the highly anticipated documentary "City Harvest: A Growing Community".
City Harvest: A Growing Community illustrates the remarkable sustainability and expansion of Pennsylvania Horticultural Society’s City Harvest program throughout Philadelphia, growth that is an inspiring testament to the power of city-wide collaborations addressing issues such as food insecurity, environmental damage, re-entry from prison, teen education, jobs training, and belonging, through partnerships with working solutions (30 min).
Also screening will be the origin story of the City Harvest program in 2006, documenting the beginning of these partnerships in gardening addressing institutional rehabilitation, community integration and improved nutrition (39 min).
This screening will take place outdoors, all attendees are required to wear a face covering, and maintain a safe 6ft of social distancing.
This event is free to all, no RSVP required.
