Come for a live demonstration and discussion with Alkebu-Lan Marcus and Phil Forsyth of the Philadelphia Orchard Project about making biochar and compost tea to improve garden and orchard soils. Biochar is a charcoal-like soil enhancer made by burning organic material. Compost Tea is a living liquid soil enhancer made by 'brewing' compost. In this workshop, we'll be going over the history, usage, properties and how to apply them to improve the life of the soil.
