Join The Trust for Public Land (TPL) and the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society (PHS) for a virtual conversation with the local community members, artists, and activists leading these projects as we discuss the ways art can bring us together to advance green solutions and environmental equity.
Art is a powerful tool for expressing our voices and experiences, and a vehicle for organizing change. In Philadelphia, TPL and PHS are using public art to engage city residents in the development of community-driven solutions for addressing urban heat and enhancing the tree canopy. In the process, we’re supporting communities in their efforts to become greener, more connected and highly resilient.
Fueled by climate change, historic disinvestment and inequitable access to green space and tree canopy, urban heat disproportionately impacts BIPOC and low-income communities.
