The Pennsylvania Horticultural Society, an internationally recognized nonprofit organization founded in 1827, advances the wellbeing of the Philadelphia region by creating healthier living environments, building deeper connections between people, and increasing access to fresh food and economic opportunity.  Fueled by a diverse community of supporters, PHS delivers impact through initiatives in more than 250 neighborhoods; an expansive network of public gardens and landscapes; and the nation’s signature gardening event, the Philadelphia Flower Show. PHS invites everyone to garden for the greater good as a participant, member, donor, or volunteer. PHSonline.org.

In anticipation of its 200th anniversary in 2027, PHS launched a community outreach and strategic visioning effort, engaging thousands of supporters in extensive, research, and listening sessions. The effort inspired the PHSVision2027, the Society’s focused commitment to creating impact in the years ahead by “gardening for the greater good.” Under Vision 2027, PHS will use all of its activities to use horticulture to advance four impact priorities: increasing access to fresh food; creating healthier living environments; building deeper social connections, and growing economic opportunity.
