Park Services And The Green Machine

PHS works in partnership with Philadelphia Parks & Recreation and the Fairmount Park Conservancy to assist volunteers who care for community parks throughout the city.

The PHS Public Landscapes Design & Management team provides design services for park enhancement projects and promotes sustainable landscape practices. PHS staff offer training in sustainable practices for volunteers and park employees.

In addition, from April through November, The Green Machine offers mobile gardening instruction through a technical-assistance grant for volunteer park groups and caretakers of ornamental gardens.

Twice a year PHS partners with the Philadelphia Department of Parks & Recreation and the Fairmount Park Conservancy’s Neighborhood Park Stewardship Program in the citywide “Love Your Park” event to clean and beautify Philadelphia’s neighborhood parks.
