The Neighborhood Gardens Association (NGA), a non-profit land trust founded in 1986, plays a critical role in preserving, protecting and promoting community gardening throughout Philadelphia. With a portfolio of about 30 gardens, both ornamental and food-producing, NGA is a leader in sustaining neighborhood green space and advancing community gardening. Now, having formed a strategic alliance with PHS, NGA is poised to become the premier national model for urban land trusts.
